Products

  • Ora: an AI caller and receptionist for New Zealand businesses. Answers the phone from approved facts, books into Google Calendar and makes sales calls from lists a person approves. Says it’s an AI on every call, in a New Zealand voice and 22 languages. From NZ$149 a month plus GST; setting up and practice calls are free.
  • JENA: a Windows app that gives a small business a team of AI employees from 12 ready-made roles. It asks for approval before anything is sent on the owner’s behalf. NZ$29, NZ$99 or NZ$299 a month including GST, with a 7-day free trial.
  • Gnomon (say “no-mon”): checks an AI’s decisions and text before you use it, as a connector for Claude or ChatGPT and an API. In beta.

Latest from NOVA

  • 4 November 2026: What 34 AI sales calls to Auckland trades taught us. Real numbers from Ora’s first sales calls for NOVA: who picked up, the best time to ring a tradie, and what changed.
  • 30 October 2026: Ora (previously NOVA Caller) opened free self-serve sign-up at app.deskwithnova.com, with setup and practice calls in the browser.

Story ideas

  • An AI caller that tells everyone it’s an AI. Why Ora says so in its first reply, never leaves robot voicemails, and only rings business numbers a person approved.
  • What happens when an AI cold-calls New Zealand tradies. The first 34 calls: 19 never reached a person, and two tradies asked to be rung at 7 am.
  • AI that waits for a yes. How JENA keeps a person in charge of anything sent on a business’s behalf.
  • Building AI in New Zealand, for New Zealand. New Zealand voices, te reo Māori among Ora’s 22 languages, and NZ-dollar prices.
